You’re walking across your new hardwood floors and drag your foot -- ugh! Now you’re faced with the skid mark of a stiletto in the entryway to your home; not cool. Though it may seem extremely annoying, it’s not too hard to remove marks and scuffs like this from your flooring. Before wasting money on high-priced cleaners, take a look at some of these effective ways to remove the mark from your flooring.
For crayon marks, grab a brown paper bag and an iron. Heat the area until the bag absorbs the stain -- check every few seconds to make sure it’s not too hot.
If you have a water stain, fear not! Apply some penetrating stain finish to steel wool and rub the stain lightly, enough to get rid of the stain, but not scratching the wood. Make sure to buff afterwards.
Heel scuffs are similar to water and oil stains. With steel wool, apply a small amount tof wax, and then rub in and buff with a cloth. This should refinish and eliminate the blemish!
For more intense projects, think about the commercial cleaners and applicators you can use in order to have your wood shining as well as it did on its first day!
