Stone Vs Wood Flooring

Let's face it, flooring is the first major home improvement you'll touch every morning. As soon as you roll out of bed, your feet hit the floor and you start moving. So, with all of the walking you're doing, shouldn't your floor feel good? It is after all your home, so why not have it to your liking? Two of the most elegant options for homes are wood and stone flooring. With benefits of both, they're great in home in a number of places. But which is better where? We'll tell you.

Wood flooring.

Wood flooring is Great almost anywhere. With tons of color and finish options, there's a type of wood that suits the needs of almost everyone. But what else is it about wood that's so special? For one, radiant options are available, which can warm the ground before you step out onto it. Cold feet is a thing of the past for you. Additionally, it travels into many rooms, creating seamless transition between parts of your home. Be careful with your wood flooring however, as moisture can harm it. Wipe up immediately, or have run off mats available at every door/sink.

Stone

Stone flooring suits the needs of those looking for a little bit more of a real feel to their rooms. While this isn't the most ideal in every situation, there are a few positives to using stone flooring. For one, it's a little but better in rooms with moisture. This is also great for custom bathrooms, as you can get it wet, and not worry. Perhaps using the same stones on the wall and the floor?
It's also good to use stone by the front door, if you're trying to create an entrance. You can have Stone chips to create a design in the floor, which provides a talking point and something for your guests to appreciate as they walk in.
