Remodeling your home can be a daunting task, especially when you’re on a tight budget and have very little to work with -- however it doesn’t always have to be like that. Instead of worrying about what looks the most expensive, it might be a good idea to take the DIY route and see what you can come up with in terms of increasing your productivity and simplifying the process.
Nails
We’ve all undoubtedly been hammering a nail into the wall and slipped, hitting a finger or two -- and it’s not fun. Instead of risking the injury, there are a few things you can do to avoid this. Grab a pair of needlenose pliers, and hold the nail in place as you hammer away. Instead of hitting your fingers, you won’t have to worry about damaging them. As a bonus, if this involves hanging something such as a poster, you can position a fork onto the nail and use it as a guide as to where it needs to be hung.
Tennis Balls
When you’re moving furniture around, or it’s too heavy to lift, it can scrape against the floor. By cutting a few tennis balls open, you can effectively move them around the floor without risking damage -- this is especially important for wood floors which can become damaged very easily. The best part about them is that you can take them off and place them onto other pieces of furniture as you begin to move -- only a few are needed!
Of course, there are a number of things that can aid in your projects and help you achieve that perfect home, but it does take some TLC. These tips can help you protect your home and keep the process to a minimum, in terms of time.
